Youth Concerts
The Eugene Symphony is committed to “enriching lives through the power of music” for audiences of all ages, backgrounds and means. Through its Education & Community Engagement Initiatives, the Symphony has increased the capacity and diversity of its youth programs to annually reach more than 12,000 children, parents, and educators throughout a 75-mile radius of Eugene. These programs include concerts targeting preschool, elementary, middle and high school students.
Master Classes
The Symphony’s Laura Avery Visiting Masters program provides professional and aspiring professional musicians in the Willamette Valley with opportunities to develop their skills through master classes, workshops and demonstrations by guest artists from the Symphony’s season. All program activities are free and open to the public.
Pre-Concert Lectures
For more than 35 years the Eugene Symphony Guild has hosted free concert previews. These previews are held on the Wednesday before the symphony’s subscription concerts at noon in The Studio of the Hult Center. The previews feature engaging discussion with music director Danail Rachev and the week’s featured guest artist. These previews are free and open to the public.
Run-Out Performances
As the primary professional orchestra for the 642,000 residents of Lane, Douglas, Linn, and Benton counties, Eugene Symphony is dedicated to making symphonic performances of the highest artistic quality available to the broadest possible audience. For more than 20 years, the Symphony has offered discounted “runout” concerts in rural and lower-income communities, bringing affordable, high-caliber cultural opportunities to residents outside greater Eugene.
