Eugene Symphony Assistant Principal Cellist David Chinburg holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Oregon and a Master of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition to performing with the Eugene Symphony, he also conducts Arts Umbrella's Eugene Junior Orchestra and performs with the Oregon Bach Festival Orchestra and the Oregon Coast Music Festival Orchestra. Growing up in Salem, David has played cello for over 45 years. He reports that his most memorable moment with the Eugene Symphony was his first set of rehearsals and concert with Eugene Symphony Conductor Laureate Marin Alsop.
