Brian Scott has been a member of the Eugene Symphony percussion section for more than fifteen years. A native of Eugene, Brian attended Churchill High School and the University of Oregon, where he was a music major. Brian comes for a musical family; both of his parents were music majors. His father was a woodwind major and his mother was a clarinet major who also played piano. In addition to performing with the Eugene Symphony, Brian also performs with the Oregon Mozart Players, the Eugene Opera, the Portland Opera, the Oregon Symphony, the Oregon Bach Festival, and the Sunriver Music Festival. Brian's "Top 3" classical music favorites are Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4, Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique, and Bernstein's West Side Story. His most memorable experience with the Eugene Symphony was the concert and CD recording at the 50th National Conference of the League of American Orchestras in Portland, Oregon under Music Director Laureate Marin Alsop. Outside of music, he loves introducing new things to his children. He enjoys bicycling, running, camping and traveling. Brian is a self-proclaimed computer geek.
