Sharron Smith performs in the first violin section of the Eugene Symphony; she has played violin for over 60 years. She also performs with the Oregon Mozart Players, the Eugene Opera, and the Eugene Concert Choir. Growing up in Portland, Oregon, Sharron had a very musical family. In fact, her mother, brother and sister all played piano. She holds both a Bachelor of Music Degree and a Master of Music Degree in violin performance from the University of Oregon. Her favorite music includes Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker and Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. One of her most memorable Eugene Symphony moments was when she was a featured soloist in a performance of Bach's Double Violin Concerto. When not performing, Sharron enjoys traveling, fly fishing, cooking, and gardening.
