Marilyn Tyler - Violin II
- Violin II
Marilyn Tyler has been a violinist in the Eugene Symphony since 1981. She has played violin since she was 10 years old. She regularly performs with the OSU-Corvallis Symphony and the Amici String Quartet. Marilyn grew up in Salem, Oregon, where she was a member of a very musical family; her father arranged band music, played jazz trombone and taught, while her mother taught piano and cello and was their church’s organist. Marilyn attended one year of school at Willamette University and studied with Amy Barlowe; she later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from the University of Oregon. Her most memorable time with the Eugene Symphony is all of the concerts Marin Alsop conducted. When not performing, Marilyn enjoys spending time with her kids.
