Symphony in the Park

  • The standard guidelines for attending a concert at Cuthbert Amphitheater apply. Here are a few of the key guidelines:

    • You may bring a small clutch or fanny pack. Anything bigger must be clear and not larger than 14” x 18” x 6”

    • No outside food or beverages – empty plastic water containers are OK. Water fill stations are available inside the venue.

    • Blankets and beach towels allowed, beach towel size.

    Remember to bring food to donate to Food for Lane County. Help us reach the goal of 1,000 pounds of food!

  • This is a General Admission (GA) lawn show. That means the upper and lower grassy areas, as well as the permanent seats in front, with the exception of those marked "reserved” will be first-come-first-seated.

    At 6:30pm, gates are open to anyone with "VIP" printed on their ticket.

    From 6:30-7:30pm, the 10-member group Jenaguru (see information below) will play lively Zimbabwean marimba music. The Instrument Petting Zoo will be open for hands-on fun! Open to all ages.

    7pm: Gates open to all ticket holders

    7:45: any seats marked "reserved" that have not been claimed will be released.

    8pm: Alex Prior makes his debut as Music Director and Conductor of the Eugene Symphony and the concert begins!

  • Jenaguru, a 10-member marimba band, draws on the influence of traditional Zimbabwean mbira music to create jubilant dance music on marimbas. From the playful song Kamba to the hauntingly beautiful Todzungaira, the complex melodies and rhythms of the marimbas, vocals, and the strong pulse of the hosho and drums stir and inspire the audience. Jenaguru is a performing ensemble with Kutsinhira Cultural Arts Center.

Don’t have Tickets?

Ticketing for this free event are handled by Cuthbert Amphitheater. The free General Admission tickets for this concert are “sold out” but a limited number of tickets may become available. Please sign up on our waitlist below and we will notify you if tickets are available.

Alternatively, join us in Cottage Grove on July 28, where tickets are not required, and chairs and outside food and drink are permitted!
