EUGENE, Ore. - The Hult Center for the Performing Arts is teaming up with the Music Education & Performing Artists Association (MEPAA) to host a community instrument drive called Instruments for All, running through March 14.

According to the Hult Center, the drive encourages community members to donate gently used musical instruments to support local students and aspiring musicians. These donations aim to expand access to music education and performance opportunities in the region.

“So many instruments are sitting unused, even though they still have so much life left in them,” said Laura Lee, managing director of the Hult Center.

Donations can be dropped off at the Hult Center in the Community Corner lobby during public hours, or at the MEPAA Music & Arts Center, located at 2370 Parliament St. in Eugene, during designated Monday evening times. In-kind donation forms are available upon request.

The drive will culminate with "You’re Invited: The Power of Music," a free community event on March 14 at the Hult Center. Attendees will have the chance to receive a voucher for a free instrument from MEPAA while supplies last.

“At the Hult Center, we believe the arts are a powerful way to bring people together,” said Jennifer Cumberworth, director of Community and Creative Learning at the Hult Center.

Community partners such as the Eugene Symphony and Eugene Concert Choir are supporting this initiative, highlighting a collective commitment to keeping music accessible for future generations.
